what is the overhead bin depth of 737, 747 and 757?
like around the middle and back isles (not the center section).
i was looking online and can't find a definitive answer. yeah, i know there's like a million different bin types in these jets...
i bought a 7 piece older Briggs & Riley Baseline collection (probably early 2000's). haven't taken them on any flights yet. there's two carry on rollers. a U21X and U21S.
from my measurements, about 22" with wheels. the leather handle is probably another inch. i'm guessing around 23.25" tall.
basically, will this thing fit in your usual southwest or united flight? i know southwest has a max height of 24"... but even with united... regardless of their limits.. will the bag fit in the overhead (either wheels out or wheels in)?
i've read differing opinions on the older models. most seem to lean towards YES... guess the only way is to just give it a shot.
this whole bag size thing is utter nonsense. i'e never seen so many people freak out over 1 INCH (myself included. LOL!)
i mean... why even make a carryon that won't fit in the overhead?

Definitely will fit in Southwest's 737s. I always pay for the Early Bird on Southwest, so I have good access to bin space and aisle seats.
I haven't flown UA in a while, so can't comment. If you're on the bitty jets, wheeled bags usually have to be gate checked. Not a big deal unless you object to them shoving the bag down the jetway chute to the tarmac.
