Large, hard-sided equipment case for check-on
One of our teams is in need of a travel case for their training equipment to lug around the country with them that contains all of their gear.
Requirements:
- Hard-sided
- Padded (customizable, if possible, but not "custom")
- Rollable
- TSA locks
- At least, but not much larger than, 46" interior length
- Fit into the average rental car trunk
Gear inside:
- Travel screen (the 46" long item)
- Projector
- 2 x ultrabooks w/add'l travel display each
- LTE router
- All the power/network/USB cables (surge protector, HDMI, etc.)
Before I re-invent the wheel here, I figured there had to be some fellow FTers out there already doing this on a regular basis.
Thanks in advance!

It's 62.75 linear inches but hopefully they let you get away with 0.75" over. As you can see it's a very tough call putting a 46" long item into the 62 linear inches airlines want. I doubt you will be packing a projectors in there as well although of course that depends on the size. It's a very hard challenge, 46" vs 62".

Is that linear inch rule mainly for the "allowed" checked bags? I have checked a cased shotgun before, as well as golf clubs on numerous occasions, both of which were guaranteed to be over that linear inch rule. Fees are not a problem; the goal is to have the case travel with the individual rather than shipping to/from.

Wait, fees are not a problem?? https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/...ht-baggage.jsp it's $150-200 but if it's not a problem then http://www.pelican.com/us/en/pro/pro...n-case/iM3300/ is your friend. It's 70.5" linear inches and ... Pelican Enough said, I believe.
These are the TSA locks you want to install https://www.tamperseal.com/searchale...ock-p-187.html
This is how it looks when someone tries to bruteforce their way into a Pelican case locked with the aforementioned lock: https://i.stack.imgur.com/2R3F0.jpg not much success. Of course, alas, TSA master keys are spreading but the average luggage handler thief won't have one hopefully.

Anvil case is what the big bands use for their gear, custom size available.
I have similar requirement of presentation equipment use two cases; one pelican with padded dividers and a photographic light stand shipping case for the fold up screen.

Thinking separating the screen is the only way to make the case easily transported and lugged around. Already found a Pelican case suited to the task, sans screen.
What case do you use for your screen?
