I've been following this thread for a while and I just came across a photo contest where one of the categories is, indeed, View from My Hotel Room.

It's the My European Vacation photo contest. Perhaps some people who have posted here should enter.

Shanghai Pudong

I was long stay guest in the HI Pudong. Even after 7 months the views were still thrilling for a Dutch guy, where all is flat and almost no high rise exists.

Below pictures are from January, only than you have a chance of smogless views.

Looking directly over to the Parque Central, the Capitolio, and the National Theatre.
