I am jealous and disappointed. I had planned to get some shots but we have had 100% cloud cover for 2 days with no end any time soon.

Since you are using tripod, why don't you try manual exposure? Most likely I'll be experimenting with 1 sec, 5 sec and 30 sec

hi ! I did manual exposure too, experimenting different ones, but the best ones that worked were the 250, 320..

1 sec, 5 or 30 were blurry due to the moon moving.

I've also tried timelapse every 5 secs, but the moon moves too fast, video didn't come up very nice.

oic, my bad, didn't expect the moon movement to be too fast for manual exposure.

I only had my 18-200mm lens so the size is correspondingly smaller, it was an impressive view though:

The crane is on top of the new 1 World Trade Center in Manhattan:

from the southern hemisphere

This is one of the first shots I took with a DSLR (D70), Lilongwe, Malawi in 2007. It was handheld @ 1/200s, f5.6, 300mm, and was the desktop image on my pc for years! I was most taken by the contrast, I live in a city and rarely get such clear views of the moon.
