Interestingly, Boeing put out a statement yesterday rebuffing critics who claimed this video was CGI. You have to scroll down a bit for that statement: http://www.boeingblogs.com/randy/arc...he_future.html

I can see how people might think that, particularly for the overhead shots captured by a helicopter. The clean lines of the plane and the lack of surrounding buildings, etc, make it look like a flight simulator. But there's enough context that it's easy to believe that it's a real video. The actual maneuvers, while impressive, are not that unusual.

I posted about this in a different thread:

In short, Boeing claims it's real.

I thought it was CGI at first, but after watching it, I don't think so.

I would hope that Boeing (and Airbus) all test their airframes with such maneuvers. Still, it is a beautiful aircraft, and a very impressive performance.

FYI. According to:

http://blogs.seattletimes.com/boeing...ough-air-show/

One of the manoeuvres in Boeing's display has been banned. Something about turning that early into the touch and go. Wing come too close to the ground.

Too bad. It looked amazing.

I used to develop the CGI for flight simulation. That is not CGI.
