It's times like this that I feel fortunate to live in California.

Hope you East Coasters stay safe!

1,800 flights stopped as blizzard aims for East Coast
U.S. airlines canceled more than 1,800 flights nationwide on Thursday in advance of the storm. Many were on regional airlines that handle shorter flights for the major carriers.
More than 500 flights in or out of O’Hare airport were canceled, according to FlightStats.com. The flights that were getting out were delayed more than half an hour, and incoming flights were being delayed at their origin, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Airlines already have canceled more than 500 flights scheduled for Friday.

Guess I picked the wrong day to travel. 7 hours from MKE to ORD. 2.5 on the plane 100 yards from the gate in MKE. De-iced twice. ORD ground stops prevented us leaving both times. Finally returned to the gate so that we were off in under 3 hours. 2 hours of people trying to rebook/waiting finally boarded De-iced a third time. Took off and flew circles over the Illinois border after another hold was placed after take off. Yes I missed my connections to ANC and OTZ. I wanted the segment. Try again tomorrow from ORD.
