Now Immigration want to know more about you

Not long ago it was reported that Thai Immigration were asking people to put their phone numbers on their landing card. Now according to the Bangkok Post (http://www.bangkokpost.com/vdo/thail...ccount-numbers) Thai Immigration want the following information:
a) Details of your bank accounts.
b) Details of your social media accounts.
c) Details of places you normally hang out at.
I can just picture the scene at BKK Immigration queues after a couple of full 380s arrive. Great fun

What?? Knowing that I'm a banker who falls in the $80,000+ category isn't enough? lol and who remembers their bank info?

Also can't you just say you don't have social media?

AFAIK, this draft form is only in use at a few Immigration facilities and appears targeted at those holding non-imm visas or extensions of stay.

Again, AFAIK, this form is not in use at any airports, or other entry points for those with 30 day exemptions or even VoA.

I think this form is part of the 90 days reporting for people who stay longer.

I believe that it's one, and was the idea of just one immigration supervisor. Further, you are not required to provide the requested information. It is just a request. Of course I cannot vouch for what happens if you decline.

Yes, and for new Visa, extension, re-entry permits and for renewals of such. And still only at a few Immigration facilities, so far.

But you can keep up with developments on that ThaiVisa thread.

I did a 90 day report at Chaeng Watthana (Imm. 1) recently and they were not using the form then, even though it had already been introduced at (I believe) One-Stop Chamchuri Square.

You can also do a 90 day report on-line, and AFAIK that form has not been incorporated into that process.

Immigration did have a serious security breach recently so that may one reason why people are concerned?
