Uber, Grabtaxi and metered taxi in Phuket, outside of the airport
Hello everybody,
If you had an experience getting Uber, Grabtaxi/Grabcar or metered taxi outside of the airport to go to places within the island - could you please share it here? How did you get (taxi/uber/grabtaxi), from where to where you went, how much did it costs, was there any hassle?

Uber operated for 4m last year but doesn't seem to be doing so this year.
Grabtaxi does operate but simply charges a surcharge over the metered fare.
Grabcar only does SUV/Limo (ie more expensive) in Phuket.
In essence the mafia is still in full force.
