Question Phuket Airport to Karon?
Taxi or hire a car?

What's the rough rate for a taxi these days?

I've found a car company charging around THB 1,100 - 1,200 one way. Fair price?

Thanks in advance, or if you have any other suggestions, do let me know.

Should be able to do it for 600-800.

Great, thanks, is that taxi? Get it from the official taxi rank? Do they have anything like AOT limousine at HKT (sorry, been a while since I've been there).

A lot of hotels have cars and do collections. I am sure there are set rates.

Thanks. I normally don't bother contacting hotels as their rates are normally higher than third party providers. But in this case, seems hotel rates are same as a third party provider.

I used Phuket Shuttle recently to/from Phuket Airport to Patong Beach. It was 750 THB each way. Reliable service, you can book and pay ahead of time online. A rep meets you at the airport with your name up on a sign so you don't have to worry about trying to find a taxi etc., helpful if you're arriving after a long flight.

From Phuket Airport to Karon Beach appears to be 850 THB for a standard car.

I have used Phuket Shuttle for the past 3 years. They are great.

I would never take a taxi from Phuket airport. They will tell you No, but many will stop at Gem shops, Tailor shops, or Travel agencies, etc.
