BA early check-in at BKK

BA early check-in at BKK
My friends want to travel to Krabi from London and their current choice of flights has 7 hours between their KVB-BKK flight and theor BKK-LHR flight and I was wondering if anyone knew if they could check their bags in early with BA so they could go into Bangkok for some shopping or if they had to use a left luggage service?
