Bangkok le Meridien or Plaza Athenee

Which one do you suggest both are about $120 per night with breakfast.
I've seen great reviews of the breakfast buffet at the Plaza A.
Which is best location? Best rooms?

I've only stayed at the Oriental and Novotel.

Thanks,
d

Do you have status with SPG? what level? Plaza Athenee has a lounge for platinum members, which is a huge perk.

And what do you plan to do and where will you spend most of your time? PA is closer to sukhumvit road, but the choices within easy walking distance are so-so (in my opinion). Le Meridien is closer to temples, the river and Patpong.

There's actually tons of info about these places in the SPG forum, mostly from the perspective of platinum members.

Thanks Big E,
I ran across the SPG thread after I inquired. OOPS!
I don't have spg status but I guess I could work on that
between all the hotels in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Siem Reap.
Thanks again,
d
