For US citizens traveling on business (regardless of visa) and are US Global Entry: Apply for an APEC Business Travel Card. It puts you in the diplomatic/crew immigration line at many pacific rim airports. I have saved enormous amounts of time transiting BKK (inward and outward) as well as such long immigration experiences as ICN, TPE, MNL, HAN. It's the ultimate fast track.

...and my understanding of TIPs is that such status is often extended as well on other (and younger) family members...

On that basis, I assume they have reached the 3,000,000 by now. Remember that, apart from Aegean, THAI is the easiest route to *A Gold member ship.
I earn approximately 120,000 Platinum qualifying miles a year and yet I have at least six friends who cover almost double that, but in Economy, and will never qualify for Platinum.

IcyFlyer, I answered your question in my reply to Lament but, and I should have considered this before posting my original message about the 3,000,000 members being too great a burden on Thai Immigration, as the majority of the ROP Gold members do not live in Thailand and may, in fact, never have even visited Thailand, I guess the burden on Thai Immigration may not be as significant as I suggested?
