Why does the TG captain say "bo selecta" during takeoff/landing?
TG brings a smile to my face every time the captain announces "Cabin crew, bo selecta, arm (disarm) and cross check".
Could anyone please enlighten me as to what this means? And is it really "bo selecta", or just a completely innocuous Thai phrase which highlights my ignorance?? I presume it must be a secret code that only TG staff are in on, as I've never heard it on any other airline. But since I started noticing it, I now hear it without fail twice on every TG flight, at the beginning and at the end.
It is usually (but not always) the captain, sometimes it appears to be the purser? Though it is funnier to me when I imagine a middle-aged TG uncle doing a Craig David impression...
Any insights much appreciated, as the curiosity is killing me!

I think your misunderstanding the bo select, he probably said door select.
Crosscheck is a generic term used by pilots and flight attendants meaning that one person has verified the task of another. In the cabin, flight attendants crosscheck one another’s stations to make sure the doors are armed or disarmed as necessary.

I remember my first time flying into BKK I thought I was hearing Don Meaung and not Suvarnabhumi. Did a few double checks to my ticket and that it showed BKK. Was just worried the hotel car would be at the wrong airport. But trips later and having studied some Thai I quickly learned.

I have a laugh (annoyingly) every time the captain explains which cities and countries the plane needs to fly over, seriously, do I need to know all those details? I haven't hard any other airlines say those things. I want the inflight movie to be resumed ASAP.
