Thai Aiport Lounge Question
Hi there - first time flying Thai. I am arriving on TG677 from NRT to BKK which arrives at 2230. I am then departing at 0810 on TG461 to MEL in J.What are my lounge options for the almost 9 hours I am waiting for my connection? In looking at the Thai website, it would appear the lounges close at 2am? Is that accurate - do I need to book a room at the hotel? Thank you in advance.

Note that if you do go land side you may be asked to pay the 700B departure tax the following morning as this is likely not already included in the cost of your ticket.

If you in Royal Silk or have *G, I'd stay in the various lounges (TG and Eva) and then use the Louis Tavern transit hotel. Min booking is 6 hours from recollection which should work out just right for your 8.00 am flight. The SQ lounge is good for breakfast and should be open early enough for you to eat and then board your onward flight.

from 0200 -0500 (reopening of TG lounge) you could in Louis Tavern lounge (they also have lounges, not only the expensive transit hotel) or if you are a smoker in one of the smoking lounges

Flight to MUC 3.x hours delayed. Wonder when we will be kicked out of the First lounge. Time will show. New departure now 04:40 AM. 01.44 now.
Edit:
Still here 03 AM. Like it...

in Europe staff would probably go on strike, if they had to stay longer. In US staff would close 10 minutes early and pity themselves, that they had additional work to kick out all the passengers

I selected a modest 3 star hotel for about USD35, it was perfectly fine. Being able to sleep comfortably in a bed beats any lounge (even the F lounge) for such a long stay.

I agree with the recommendation to get a hotel. As others have said - these can be very cheap and will include transfers (someone from the hotel meets you in the arrivals hall).

Paid approx. THB 1900 for double room inc. breakfast and free round trip transfers from/to airport. Though I would skip the breakfast and just scoff yourself at the BKK SQ lounge.

yep, that's rather normal that they keep the lounge open when there is a flight delay!

For those travelers who are frugal, have visa issues, or don't want to deal with the process of a landside hotel:

IIRC EVA has/had a late night (03:40am) BKK departure 3x weekly, so depending on your travel schedule the BR lounge might be open awhile after the other *A lounges have closed.
