Check in times at BKK - am I cutting it too close?
Dear All,
I will be flying out of BKK to OSL in January at 00:20 (Saturday night, if that makes a difference). We are planning to have dinner at Nahm that night and we arrange a car [Oriental Escape] to pick us up at 21.20 at the Metropolitan Hotel to bring us to the airport... I am expecting it'll take about an hour (is that realistic?) to get to the airport so we will be checking in at 22.20 (two hours before our flight). Do you think that's enough time? We will be flying on TG's Royal Silk Class if that makes a difference.
Thanks a lot for the advise!

yes plenty of time, even the traffic can be terrible on Sathorn Saturday night. But it is not so far from a expressway entrance.
without traffic jam, drive would be only 30 minutes...

Thanks a lot for the help! I know might be just over-planning it now, first time in Bangkok and I'm originally from Bogotá where travel time to the airport and check-in times are insane. Also, any thoughts about how long dinner at Nahm is? I'm guessing a bit over 2 hours is enough, but it never hurts asking. Thanks again!

But BKK and BOG could not be more different - two hours at BOG and you barely make your flight; two hours at BKK and you'll have an hour for the lounge (or duty free shopping)

dinner at Nahm: your plan 2 hours, can be done in 1 hour (1 hour reserve)
transfer to airport: your plan 1 hour, can be done in 30 minutes (1/2 hour reserve)
check in 2 hours in advance J class, can be done in 1 hour (1 hour reserve)
so relax!

J checkin time also fine. If it was Y I'd be arriving at BKK 3 hours ahead. Immigration on exiting also a lottery unless you're in the fast track.
