Piyasvasti wins court case against THAI for unfair dismissal

Here's an article that explains it all:

Piyasvasti wins THAI sacking fight
Bangkok Post, 24 April 2014

Looking at the current situation at THAI, I think getting rid of Piyasvasti was a HUGE mistake.

Good news! Piyavasti was the best thing that happened to TG in a long time. Good decisions were being made and flying TG was better under his rule.. However I think 1M THB is a pretty poor settlement. Hopefully he will manage to get a decent job elsewhere but it still won't solve the management issues that TG currently has and will probably continue to have

At ~$30K it is a poor monetary settlement but I don't believe the money had anything to do with the proceedings. A judgement against THAI was the sole desire... IMO of course.

I think Mr. Ampon Kittiampon should be responsible for this case by not getting the benefits from THAI anymore.

I was encouraged to read in that article that the THAI unions are still going forward with trying to get Kittiampon ousted from the board of directors.

Here's somewhat of an update to this thread:

THAI shareholders target Ampon
Bangkok Post 29 April 2014

It doesn't say however, if Kittiampon was reappointed to the board or not.

Also, an interesting new scapegoat for THAI's problems: Blame the Chinese government!

I got a laugh out of that when I perused the paper this morning.

So much fun.
The new President does not sound better than the previous one.
