A380 - blocked F-seats

Does anyone know why the seats 2+3 F are always blocked on the 380?

Consequently it is only possible to reserve 1 E+F when two people are travelling together.

Probably for the same reason that 2 H&K are always blocked initially in F on the A346-disabled access. When other seats book up they are generally released.

I experienced no problem when calling to request 3A on the A380 for a flight next month. Try the port side.

3A is not a blocked seat; only 2+3 F

INteresting, I did notice that our upcoming flight had 1 EF open; 2 E and 3 E were open as well. 2 and 3 F were 'taken'.

Same on my departure from FRA in December. used the seatexpert app that showed 2F and 3F as blocked.

I was told once they also bocked 1 seat in F (3K) for crew rest in the 744, but generally released that closer to the flight if it was getting full.
