You prefer business class (LX) over first class (TG)?

Uh, ok . . .

The only thing consistent about TG is it's inconsistency!!!

Thanks for the pics!

It is too bad they didn't eliminate the overhead bins to give the F cabin a more open feel to it (especially being at the nose of the plane).

Agree. I'm quite disappointed with the windows as well. They could have done something cool with them like e.g BA, MH and LH have on their 747's. Oh well, it's not like I'm gonna fly in that cabin in like.. Ever

5khours, thanks for taking the time to post the pics and your sharing your observations about the cabin.

I am looking forward to seeing it in person some day....

Flew back to NRT (TG 640) in the old 747. I hate to say this, but I like the old configuration better than the new configuration. IMHO and after some reflection, I have to say that TG really blew it on this one.

Doesn't look that great to me! Looks like C class with higher walls...

When you say "old" config, do you mean recliner/14 F seats config or the flat/12 F seats config?

So briefly.

1. No difference in amenities or service.

2. Almost no difference in seat comfort.

3. The walls on the suites in the new 747s just make the cabin feel crowded without providing any privacy. No privacy on the old 747 either but at least the cabin does not feel cramped..

4. The color scheme on the new 747 is pretty dull (modern penal). The old cabin is more attractive.

5. IFE is not very important to me. (I usually read or work when I'm awake).

That said, the TG 777s with the suites are one of my favorite aircraft. Being able to shut the doors provides a real sense of privacy and tranquility.

IMHO - TG should have gone with the 777 type suites or else figured out a way to add privacy screens (like in the LH A380) to the old type layout.

He probably means flat 10
Yes. Thanks for the correction.
