DPS-BKK changed to 744 all series

My wife and I are travelling from DPS-BKK. We currently are traveling on a J-award. At the time of booking Thai was not offering F on this route. I looked today and they are now offering F. I have the ability to change my reservation to an F award. This will be our first time traveling with Thai. Will this flight be true International F service and amenities?

TG is offering F to DPS? That's rather odd. Care to share your day(s) of travel?

If they are offering F to DPS, it would be a relatively short hop, so the service would be 'regional'...

Cheers,

AG. :-:

No, TG does not the capabilities to offer first class arrival and departure facilities at DPS. The "all series" is locked in to service this port for the next season and from all reports will operate as it has in the past when it services domestic and regional. On a dummy booking, I was unable to book F from Bangkok, BUT was able to do so on a booking from DPS on an A330

How does it work: In some cases the crew will block this cabin, remembering that cabin crew do the initial cleaning of the cabins.

On other flights they allow TG Gold card holders access to seating.

On busy flights and the DPS is one of the busiest, it is first in best dressed so to speak and if you are in the know, arrive at the airport early and request 1A, it will be released. On line checkin is allowed and has been reported successfully, 24hours prior to departure. Hope this helps

Postscript: the website shows the 747 and the A330 selling F seats, this cannot be right for starters, maybe someone with up to date info will advise you, to me it looks like an error, but as a part time local I would love it.

There is indeed something odd about this. F and A booking classes seem available but cannot be booked on the Thai web site. I also get the 330 seat map instead of 747

I can't pull up F, A or O inventory on EP. Think they plugged it?

We will be traveling July 1. I did a fake booking on this day and got to seat selection. It showed the seat map for the 747 with the "new" first seats. Should I suspect they will change it again? When we booked the reservation it was an A330. I am using Continental miles and the agent told me she could book two first seats.

I did a 'direct connect' search and it does show First Class available

01JUL FRI BKK/Z‡7 DPS/‡1
TG RESPONSE ** DIRECT CONNECT PARTICIPANT **

This is not business in the first cabin as bkkrop mentioned but actual F class. i 'sold' a seat and it comes back confirmed too.It is possible this might change back to an A330, who knows with TG

Since you can book it as F will it be F service? The upgrade in miles is minimal and I would love to try Thai F.

Thanks to the OP for pointing this out! I just managed to change my US award booking for April on this flight from C to F (confirmed and ticket re-issued).

I haven't made seat assignments yet; first want to sort out what aircraft this is likely to be.

This is great. Remember if you get downgraded to a 2 class a/c you have a chance to seek compensation, even on award tix.

Don't waste your miles on the regional F, it's marginally better than C in this config. Flying upper deck C in regional is actually way cooler than F downstairs.

It's best to try TG F on long hauls, specially if you can route BKK-CDG-BKK.
