Notification notice if someone quotes or replies to me?
I was wondering if it would be possible to implement a system, so that we could get a notification when someone has replied to my message or quoted us.
I have over 130 subscribed threads. Sometimes when I'm travelling I don't get the chance to check FlyerTalk for more than a fortnight, and I come back to see 30 new pages added to each thread.
Now, if there was a question I had asked or if I wanted to see if there was any constructive suggestions or criticism on something that I posted, I would have to go through 30 pages to find that post.
Slickdeals has a really good system where you get notifications if
A. A thread is created that has a tag word that you subscribed to (another great idea.
B. A user you've subscribed to, starts a thread.
C. Someone quotes you in a message.
It's point C that I'm talking about.
Like in the screenshot (from Slickdeals)
This is basically what I'm suggesting.
Whatever the notification is, would appear in that lower corner.
It could say "User X has quoted you in thread Y".
Do let me know if you guys think this could work?
Thanks.

But for us, lesser mortals, knowing when someone has replied to a post, this would be very useful.
I'm currently subscribed to over 150 threads, about 40% of them are active, and I post here and there once in a while.
Having to check EACH thread individually to look if someone has replied, is a major PITA.

Such function should of course be up to you how to use. You should be able to switch function on/off, notification as you want, PM/mail. And different from thread to thread. Should be put under thread tools, unless you have it as a feature on/off for all.

We have the ability to add things like hashtags and @replies, but there is no software that sends an alert when a member is quoted or mentioned without an @

In other words, instead of "Originally Posted by IBObi", make it "Originally Posted by @IBObi"?
