I thought it was verboten to mention anything that takes place in that star chamber?

I'm still unconvinced about whether the new forum should be just SAA (and its regional affiliates) or airlines of South Africa. Even with Comair staying in BA, I don't think theree was a consensus reached on the issue before the formal motion was made and seconded.

During the last quarter, there were 19 active threads on SAA and its affiliates/franchise partners posted in the Other Middle Eastern and African Airlines forum

We are allowed to report on what WE say and do. We may not report on what other TB members say and do. @:-)

I think it is fine to give SAA/Voyager it's own forum, considering:
1. Size of SAA on the African continent
2. Being voted "Africa's top airline"
3. Ranked and rated as "4-stars" by Skytrax (37 airlines in this category) - along with others like Air Canada, Emirates, Lufthansa, etc.
4. Tier 1-type loyalty/frequent flyer program
5. To keep the format consistent with majority of other airlines

It would be more confusing to say "airlines of South Africa" when BA/Comair is going to be in the BA forum. Kulula and the rest can go to other airlines of Africa.

It might be fine, but I'm questioning whether it's obviously optimal and I'm certainly not convinced that it is. I'd rather create a new forum right than create one now and then come back to the issue of changing it (tweaking it, if you please) within a year or two.

I voted Yes. The options were discussed in this forum extensively, and this looks like the best choice.

Strongly support the motion. In light of post up thread where poster noted 19 new threads in one quarter IMO a SAA forum would be reasonable traffic.

SAA is a strong member of *A and SA is a significant nation within the African continent. Taken in combination one must believe that SAA will maintain and expand their prestige and network as demand for travel to SA increases.

Accordingly I favour the creation of an SAA forum. Thanks!

Motion Will Pass

In accordance with the guidelines that means we'll announce if a motion has passed or failed once enough yes or no votes have been recorded by TB members, this is the public notice that this motion

will pass as it has secured 6 yes votes.

Please note that not all TB members have voted yet, and so a final announcement with who voted

yes/no will not be posted until all 9 have voted or the voting period ends.

Fantastic news!

Will all the SAA related threads in the African forum be moved over for "pre-population" and ease of use/organization?
