Is it not possible to change FF # on LX ?
Hi there,
I put my TK Gold number in LX reservation but wanted to change it
to UA number for one segment. I asked the GA agent to
do that before the leg started. What I was told was that it would
change the FF number for the entire trip ! Is that true or that particular
GA did not know how to do it ? In the past I have been able to
do this for other airlines (not LX), so just checking if something is
different in LX reservation system...
Any feedback is appreciated...Thanks in advance.

FFP numbers can be extremely "sticky", and my personal experience is that if you want to use one FFP for one segment, and another FFP for another, this fails in almost all cases (at least with LX/LH/OS)
The only "trick" you can use when you want to credit across more than one FFP is to NOT use a FFP at all and retro-credit it after you've flown.
Priority baggage/extra baggage might not work this way (even if they manually tag it..), lounge access might (at least) gets some raised eyebrows, but should work, and obviously you'll not get any benefits from not having your status on the manifest (ie, no opup chance etc.)

Update:
I am not sure how it happened but here is what happened !
All 4 of my boarding passes had my TK *G number printed on it so was easy
to use lounges etc. Also received op-up to business from ZRH for the last leg :-)
But I put my UA number in the record at the gate before my
first leg and all mileage (for all 4 legs) was credited to UA !!!
Looks like LX picks up the FF number from the Swiss profile for the BP but can
credit mileage to another FF program...

I think my request is simple but cannot work out how to do it.
When booking a LX revenue fare at swiss.com, I was prompted to enter my M+M number to prefill data. Fine so far.
I'd now like to change my FF number to a *A Gold (I'm nothing now with M+M) Is there a way of doing that online?
Thanks.

Thanks very much, oliver2002. I downloaded my e-ticket and see that the *A gold number has stuck.
Unfortunately, I'm embarrassed to say I have found another mistake. There's a typo in my wife's surname, first letter missing. Name changes not allowed, but what about typos? I'm confident that API info is correct.
Grateful for your advice.

No change/update is required, airlines are ok with 1-4 typos, as long as it doesn't significantly alter the name. Make sure the SFPD and APIS is correct and you are good.

Thanks again, oliver2002. I'm reassured.
I'm still learning. I don't know what SFPD is. I Googled it but assume it has nothing to do with San Francisco Police or Pediatric Dermatology.
I haven't done anything different this time apart from the typo so I'm assuming all will be OK.
