Not surprised. This hotel felt more Motel 6 than Le Meridien.

Hmm- Rimini is not Sardegna however I always felt this was a pretty good choice given the pricing they had and their beach front location. Shame to lose this option as Rimini is a fairly large convention/meeting destination in this area of Italy. Guess it is back to the Grand.

I am not really going to miss the various Rimini, Bari, Sheraton Firenze and such, but the loss of the two hotels in Turin is still a sore spot as are the Gallia in Milan and the Eden in Rome and what should be food for thought is the lack of attention to Italy as a destination. Many hotels leaving Starwood and no new ones being added to the portfolio.

I think it may be a terrible performance on the part of the Italian economy leading to this trend as opposed to lack of attention to Italy as a destination?
