Deer FTers,
Just returned from my 6th stay at the GH in 5 years...consistently our favorite hotel in Europe. Location, staff, rooms, ambience, restaurant: all mighty close to perfect!
Just thought you'd want to know...

Wonderful experience at the Goldener Hirsch Restaurant, Salzburg
I've admittedly never stayed in Salzburg as the city was always a day trip for me and, more recently, when staying in the area, I've stayed at the Intercontinental Berchtesgaden, but I love the hotel and its restaurant and have been eating there since childhood.
I have really strong memories of my earliest visits to the Goldener Hirsch, in part thanks to the dessert we would always get, Salzburger Nockerl (see photo below).
Recently, when driving from Steyr back to Berchtesgaden, I decided it was the perfect time to drop in.
One thing I've noticed, no matter how I am attired (due to an entire day spent driving), the welcome is always very warm and genuine.
My friend and colleague Christian had never sampled Salzburger Nockerl (those Germans....) so he was eager to try this as well.
Service was excellent, the food (Fritattensuppe followed by two entrées we shared, Wiener Schnitzel and Wiener Zwiebelrostbraten, were perfect.
A review with more than a dozen pictures was published online in Frequent Business Traveler but the most important photo is below.

Since this is really a restaurant review, albeit in a luxury hotel, I think the Dining Buzz forum is a more logical place for it.

And per http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/dinin...-you-post.html after its short stay in Dining Buzz, will move along to the appropriate destination forum.

I stand corrected by cblaisd! But actually had either cblaisd or I happened to know it was Starwood, that would have been the best place to send it.
