I love a hotel with a water view. This looks intriguing. According to Google Maps, it's 1 1/2 hours drive from Venice.

I'm surprised the website is so bare bones for a property opening in 6 weeks in the peak of summer. Here's more information about the surrounding area.

When will reservations be allowed? Will be in that area in September and would like to try it out.

Will the marina accept super yachts? This looks like another hotel that wants to capitalize on all the luxury yachts that are frequenting the Adriatic lately. I visited the new Regent Porto Montenegro http://www.regenthotels.com/EN/Porto-Montenegro last summer which has a deepwater bay for the super yachts. And there are more on the Croatian islands. Lots of rich Russians yachting about there these days. They've even set up Russian grocery stores and such next to these luxury hotels.

Otherwise it might be nice to visit on the way to Ljubljana.

Current summer prices loaded are €400 which make the Cat 5 rating look quite good value. Looks a beautiful property from the current photos.

How far is this property from Venice ? I've wanted to visit, but the prices and category ratings of the other hotels have put me off.

Website says something about a private beach. Does anyone know how the beaches are in that area? Possibly pebble instead of sand?

What would the driving be like from Venice? I've heard driving in Italy is crazy although we have a trip booked in Sept. and plan to rent a car.

Its like an hour and 20 minute drive.
Driving in Italy is fine as long as you follow the traffic. In northern Italy there is hardly any difference to anywhere else in Europe. I do agree driving in the south is a bit more adventurous! but can be lots of fun too!
