Good to see that new options are being added, but I still think 10 SNAs are way better than any of the other options.

Agreed it's nice to see some new options but the 40% off a bed one seems a little out of left field.

It would be good to have options to swap out at the end of the year for unused SNAs too rather than being left feeling short changed.

It's part of SPG's plan to discourage the kind of customers who won't take responsibility for their own choices.

I don't understand.
Won't Marriott be wearing the trousers in 2017? I'll be surprised if I keep 4pm late checkout.

the 40% of bed are great!
While most people might not be interested in the 40% off a bed, I think that is a really great option for some of us - can be worth much more than 3 free nights and >1.000 USD savings.^
Will the discount also be valid combined with seasonal discounts like "30% off for christmas for one week only"?
Hotel beds are actually the only ones you can really test - you already know how well you'll sleep and how you'll feel the next morning because you already spend a few full nights in them (at least if you need to reach 50 nights to get the discount).
10 years ago I bought two mattresses that seemed to be great in the store and reviews from consumer reports, but one one I just couldn't sleep and with the other one my back would always hurt the next day .
So I finally gave up and got a Marriott bed (didn't know Starwood back then) which I had always slept well in
One of the best buying choices I ever made, although the price was a lot higher than the other "good" bedding options. I am convinced this was a great investment in my health and well being. Now it's getting time to change the bed again, and I like the Sheraton sweet sleeper and Westin heavenly bed even more!
I guess I have time to decide now till I've collected my 50 nights for this year
Good night everyone

Therefore we can choose 1 among the 7 options... Not sure which one provides more values, first impression would be either the 10 SNAs or the free cat 1-5 night...

I'm interested in seeing if the 40% off beds can be stacked with the sales that are regularly run throughout the year. I've seen anything form 20 to 40% off beds this past year. So either this is a really good offer or just a coupon for something you could get by waiting.

I think the 10 SNA should be the baseline everyone receives, then create a menu of bonus items to choose from, even if they are lower value - but the flexibility with options is refreshing.

I suppose with all the merger uncertainty, I may not be the only one who wonders how much of a beating we'll take when Marriott takes over.
Am I to understand this post as an indication that SNAs will survive another year, at least until the end of 2017? If so, that would be a great relief, and truly a reason to reach 50 nights.
Starwood Lurker's post specifies that the free night and car rental options are valid until 12/31/17; would the SNAs be, as well? Or does this post merely guarantee that 50 stays in 2016 aren't completely wasted if the program turns into a Marriott pumpkin ("welcome to our resort, here's no upgrade and no breakfast, but at least you got a Slivercar rental for last year's SPG stays")
... valid through ???
