I'm positive about this. But I wonder if I've now been trained to accept that anything is better than nothing :P.

I haven't been with SPG long enough to remember days when there were no or terrible promos...

350 points isn't much, but it's better than nothing.

It's been a while since I stayed at SPG but I just got Gold from AMEX Plat so I'm looking into Starwood again. If I remember correctly, "double points" means just double base points, even with Gold status, is that right? So a $100 stay will get 2 base points, 2 "double" promo points, and 1 extra for Gold for a total of 500? Or is the extra Gold point doubled too?

If i book 100 USD / night for 3 rooms & 3 nights
My starpoints is(Plat) ?
= 200 + 100(plat)+ 200(promo) x 3 + 500 = 2000 */ room
or
= 200 + 100(plat)+ 200(promo) x 3 x 3 = 4500 + 500 for 3 rooms ?

If I have two rooms staying for a single night, does that count as a two-night stay?

The key will be on the participation and I am a little worried it might be a long list or plenty of major cities almost excluded. If however that fear is not realised then it seems a reasonable promo!

It seems they are trying to promote multiple night stays and reward that which seems reasonable. Obviously some business travellers might be less happy and certainly hotel hopping makes less sense but as the hotel hopping is almost playing the system a bit then you can understand why they wouldn't reward that.

It will all come down to that list on the 23rd!
