Las Alcobas, St Helena (Napa Valley), CA, accepting bookings from 1 Feb 2017

I just read an article on Napa that said a Luxury Collection hotel is opening in St Helena, named Las Alcobas. It's adjacent to the Beringer Wine Estate. I can't find it on the spg.com website, but the luxurycollection.com site says it is to open this August. According to this article, it is a refurb of the Grandview Hotel and Spa. It will have just 57 rooms and suites so will be a very intimate property.

I went back to the Luxury Collection website and see it is to open August 2016. I'm disappointed as other articles I had found said it was to open this summer. I was already thinking about when I could go. Hopefully it opens on schedule in 2016.

Here's a picture of the groundbreaking in 2014. Groundbeaking is a bit of a misnomer, given that it is a redo of an existing property.

How did you get the invitation? Perhaps an outstanding Ambassador who knows your tastes?

I had read this as St Helena island in the South Atlantic, might be an idea to add Napa Valley to the thread title. As St Helena is opening an airport allowing flights for the first time this wouldn't be an outlandish place for a new luxury hotel.

It is nice to have another choice in Napa though.

Owner's agent is my client.

Also, was told August opening is unlikely, October at the earliest.

Rates jump up to $500+ in the Spring and $600+ in the Summer and $700+ in the Fall. Vineyard views are substantially more. Based on redemption rates, there does not appear to be a high season at this time.
