Stayed here for one night last week, before flying home from Heathrow (I like that its easy to take the Picadilly line straight to LHR since the Knightsbridge station is literally around the corner!)

Overall, the hotel is gorgeous but service leaves a lot to be desired - tried to check in around noon but was told that the room would be ready in an hour or so and that I would receive a phone call. Went to eat lunch and wander around Harrods, and still no call 2 hours later, so we walked back. Same front desk person was there and she looked at me, and then continued chatting to her colleague for a good minute or so before acknowledging me, and then told me that the room was ready. I asked why I hadn't received a call and she simply shrugged and said my luggage would be sent up shortly.

I liked the hotel, but not so much the bad attitude - have tried many luxury hotels in London and this one had the worst service by far. Will not likely return.

Don't know exactly what you mean, but the Sheraton São Paulo is not LC as far as I know. The old Sheraton Monfarrej was LC for a while, but it was downgraded near the end of its tenure with Starwood.

I know - my point was just that the Sheraton name IMO is stronger OUS, where the properties are at a higher level, LC-branded or not

Just completed a 3N stay using points at the Park Tower. Tried to use SNA but was unsuccessful. Fortunately a suite was waiting for me on arrival! Staff at the Front Desk were very polite and hardworking (although I felt they were always shorthanded). Offered Full BF in lieu of points. The suite was large, modern and very nicely appointed with views towards the London Eye. Location-wise, it's next to Harvey Nicols, directly opposite the Mandarin Oriental. 30 sec to the Underground, and 3 mins walk to Hyde Park. Breakfast was served in One-o-One Restaurant (it's a fish restaurant, and apparenbtly rated No. 5 in London, but Mrs and I are not seafood lovers). The Hot and Cold Breakfasy spread was impressive. Mrs Kelakwek ordered Eggs Benedict from the menu but it took forever to come. Waiters were prompt and efficient. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay at the hotel!

Yikes! It's a hit, but there are still plenty of hot buffet items to choose from. I'll miss my eggs benedict though!

Thank you for updating.

So sad to hear this news. I stayed there last november and enjoyed their buffet breakfast, including a hot item from a la carte menu, at Ono-O-One restaurant so much.

The change in Platinum breakfast definitely happened as reported, with a slightly expanded hot buffet selection launching at the same time, but with the up charge for a la carte.

I'm not sure if they have reversed this now, or if I am just being looked after as a regular guest here, but on my last two stays this month, I have been offered the a la carte menu for no extra charge.

Sad to hear about this. This is my favourite SPG property because of the breakfast, size of the rooms, and view. I stayed here in March and was allowed to order anything on the menu, in addition to taking items from the buffet, for the Plat breakfast amenity.

I was successful in redeeming SNAs here for the weekend. The property's website states Butler service is "included when reserving any of the Suites." Does a confirmed SNA reservation fall under this definition? The full in room English breakfast, tea/coffee on demand, and garment pressing would be nice inclusions.

I have a 4 night reservation at PTK in November. To get clarifications on rates, would it be better to contact the hotel directly or call SPG customer care?

Hi,

That depends on the type of rates you are looking for. However our colleagues of the SPG Hotline have access to most of the rates the hotel offers and will be able to assist you.

Feel free to reach out if you have further questions.

Since the removal of à la carte items from the Plat breakfast amenity at the PTK, does anyone know if the "breakfast included" rates are similarly affected?

Answering my own question, yes the removal of à la carte items from the Plat breakfast amenity was also done for the "breakfast included" rates.

My SNAs did not come through and I was initially upgraded to an Executive Room but at check-in upon request, received a further upgrade to a Panoramic Room with view of Hyde Park. A decent nothing really special stay in which the one minor hiccup was the non-change of bed linen on the first morning due to my lack of attention regarding the need to place the change the sheets card on the bed... still the hotel was not stingy with the Molton Brown toiletries. Oh during my stay, the dish of jelly beans on the check-in counter was mysteriously removed, hopefully not permanently; I remembered those beans from a previous stay in 2013 (admittedly a brand easily purchased anywhere in the city).

The a la carte items have been removed (in menu form at least) from everyone. You can still ask for items and some, but not all are available depending on what you want.

As for the jellybeans, they are still there on all of my stays at the hotel so no downgrade on that front.
