Almost forgot... several casinos in the area... lots of country clubs that appeared to be private... not much in the way of things to do, but I'm 23, so your tastes may swing more towards what the casinos have to offer (I think Jay Leno was playing at one that weekend, and a Motown band whose name escapes me).

I stayed there on an award stay during Coachella a couple weeks ago. As a gold, I was given a Golf-Course view room (same as last year for Coachella, but it was a revenue stay, booked the lowest $$$ rate on a parking lot view room).
I had some issues with the property last year, but they were resolved to my favor. The rooms have recently been rennovated in the last 2 years, and are large and well appointed. Heavenly bed and shower. The property is kept up very nice, and the staff were up to par this time.
YYZC2 - What are the dates for Coachella next year? I'd like to get mine booked now too, I barely got a room this year

SNA_Flyer - too bad we couldn't have met up! I have made the Coachella trip two years in a row. All I could get was the Motel 6 this year..
For the last three years the festival has been on the last weekend in April so I'm guessing it will be April 24-25, 2004. I'm booked for the Saturday night only as I have friends in North Hollywood.
I'm flying my friend from LA into NYC for Field Day Fest in June... interested? Drop me a line.

Hi,
I am interested in that deal!
Whom can I contact to make reservation?
We participate in a fractional ownership program, but not Starwood's yet!

Pretty hard to miss this promo. The advertising starts at PSP with an in-airport desk just as you leave to get your rental car. Rules to qualify for the promo are the standard: $75K annual income and if you have a spouse/partner, that both of you are present for the pitch.
I was disappointed with the hotel side of this property (a number of maintenance items and junk phone messages for hotel services) but did find the management most responsive.
If this promo is as hard-sell as Westin Maui's was, be prepared to really "earn" your reward for surviving it. I was really turned-off by the Maui hard-sell and was therefore NOT interested in Mission Hills. In fact when I checked-in I requested that I NOT receive phone soliciations for this promo as Westin Maui had done.
Since the Starwood timeshare business is its fastest growing line, one gets the feeling that at *wood hotels linked to timeshares, the hotel is merely an incidental feeder for the timeshare. Sad.

Thanks - As we will be in Ca. mid July to end of July - I'd be interested in taking a quick holiday in Palm Springs! would especially like the 8,000 Starwood points - We don't play golf - so no need for the links...and we could arrive mid week -no problem...Thank you for a referral invitation.

Had a one-night stay a few weeks ago with a lot of issues: maintenance problems, byzantine voice mail system, junk voice mail ads for hotel services, platinum amenity not offered, lots of hype for on-premises timeshare, resort fee not disclosed at C/I, snippy concierge. I was embarrassed that this was a Westin. However, barely upgraded room was large, well-appointed and quiet, once the A/C was fixed!

Ms. Goldmember and I will be staying here at the end of June. Can anyone provide a recommendations on room locations (as it seems rather spread out) and on the golf course?
Thanks in advance.

Any other reports on this property? I've got a one night stay there this week.
Considering my other options were "motel"-type properties in Temecula or Hemet, I'm sure I'll be pleased with whatever I get!
Any decent restaurant recommendations in the area?
And how is the gym? I really don't want to drive all the way to Temecula to workout at a 24 Hour Fitness location....

I was there in January 2002 and really enjoyed my stay. I was upgraded to a non-view suite which was comfortable and pleasant. The food was good and the fitness center was pretty nice. I would definitely go back.
