can't comment on the aloft but it looks like the w will be delayed & most likely won't open till mid 2016....

That's disappointing, but I would love to go when/if these hotels are operational. I will still have a very valid India visa for the trip, so Starwood should get cracking!

I wonder what category the W gonna be... was there a few months ago and no signs of breaking ground yet...

Any updates on the opening of the W hotel in Goa?
on SPG website opening is foreseen in June, but the hotel is not bookable yet.
At SPG online chat they could not assist me either.

a friend of mine drove by the area last month....in his opinion it doesn't look like it will open in june....be prepared for another delay....

Any update?
Looking at Goa now as a vacation destionation with the Etihad Airways/Jet Airways flights via Abu Dhabi. Really hope the W is done nicely as I'd like to start planning. If this is delayed again, are there any good SPG beach resorts in India?

Images of the W resort are starting to show up on the Starwood site with an opening date of September 1, 2016. ^

i would be surprised if its higher than a cat 5....the inr is pretty weak at the moment & there are only 2 properties in india that are cat 5 & over out of the 50+ that spg has....the le méridien mahabaleshwar is a cat 5 & the itc grand bharat is a cat 6....

The SPG website now has a lot of pictures loaded that look very nice. I must book myself a business trip to BOM or BLR and have meetings on Friday and Monday!
