2014 Q2/3 Global Promo : SPG Earn Away, May 1 - Jul 31

SPG is pleased to announce our next global promotion, SPG Earn Away.. Registered members can earn double Starpoints on all eligible stays at more than 1,000 participating Starwood hotels and resorts May 1 through July 31, 2014. If your stay includes a Sunday (Saturday at hotels in the Middle East) you’ll earn triple Starpoints instead. It doesn’t get better than that. Register by June 30, 2014 at spg.com/earnaway.

For a list of the hotels that are not participating visit the registration page at spg.com/earnaway. Eligible bookings made prior to the promotion registration are eligible, so feel free to book now at SPG.com or the SPG apps for iPhone, Android, or iPad.

Got to love when all your upcoming stays are at non-participating locatins. :-(

Hopefully the Hilton promo will be decent. All my London hotels have opted out and at least I have time to switch reservations.

I have to do one stay in May to complete the Platinum Challenge and want to settle back with SPG, but they are not making it easy.

6 Points instead of 2 with a Sunday night stay? Is that just for the Sunday night or for all nights in the stay. If it's all nights, that is pretty damn good.

Bummer, not the greatest promo in my book, but I guess occupancy levels are up and seasonality isn't helping us. I feel like the last few promotions have been getting slightly worse everytime and it seems like this is no exception.

O well, I managed to max out Hyatt, SPG, IHG and Carlson this quarter, all of which were decent hopefully the other programs will give something better, but not holding my breath.

Good promo, but quite disappointed that most of Chicago and all of London is excluded.

Also I have reservation that checks out on May 1st. Would that stay be eligible for the promotion?

No, any of the nights before May 1st are not within the promotion period for this offer. The night of May 1st will be the first eligible night.

Yes, as long as one night of the stay is within the promotion period, bonus Starpoints will be earned on every night during the entire stay (even if part of the stay falls outside the promotion period).

Did you miss that he was not staying past the night of April 30th? If he/she was, then those T&C's would apply because there would be nights that fall within the promotion.

It would be for the entirety of the stay, if Sunday night (Saturday night in the Middle East) is included.

For Chicago, believe it or not this is an improvement...Westin Mich. Ave. usually opts out, but not this time. ^ And the W Lakeshore stayed in as usual.

Unsaid so far - no down time since the end of the previous promo in the calendar. That's a good thing!

Surprising to see the Sheraton Stamford Connecticut is a non-participating property given its proximity to Starwood headquarters and use as a testing ground for new initiatives.
