This hotel in UAE is scheduled to open 15 Dec - but is still not bookable on spg.com & there is very little info about it on the web in general. Any FTer with inside info?

Now opening February 1st. 30 percent prepaid almost twice the price of the flexible rate. Guess that will change soon.

Seems like only deluxe rooms and suites. Do you think they will upgrade from deluxe sea view to big suites for Platinums?

I had a pleasant stay at the property. Platinum recognition was excellent.

Currently, the Spa is still closed.
The hotel has a shuttle to Dubai but once a day only.

Thank you for the pictures. Is there any restaurant, shops in the area? Did you get the suite without asking as an up-grade? Will check in tomorrow a at this property. Have booked one Sea view, and one city view.

I did get the suite without asking. I even was able to check-in at 7:30am.

I did not notice any shops or restaurants in walking distance but also did not pay much attention to.

Received a suite upgrade as a platinum and fruit in room. My parents room was upgraded to sea view. Chose full breakfast as amenity (120 AED/person value).

Nice property, great with suite upgrade, but like the atmosphere in the deluxe room better. You can see the sunset from the sea view rooms. The other rooms have view to a construction/harbour area.

I haven't been to the new SR Abu Dhabi but I have been to the Saadiyat Island SR and I think that beach area is much better without sea walls and longer beach. The rooms at SR SI are very good IMO and this property while good isn't quite as luxurious with finishes.

The lobby and common areas are nice without any complaint, but the location isn't as serene or tranquil as there is construction etc. around.

Good value for the money although the location away from Dubai is a negative obviously as it takes a while to get downtown to anything. If this property were in Dubai it would be double the price as you can look at some of the rates for the Le Meridiens and Westin's there.
