bopper,

I don't disagree with anything you write regarding the good&bad of Sheraton Hua Hin, except its location. The logo by the entrance states Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa, Cha-Am. Unfortunately I didn't find a picture of the entrance.

It is indeed in Cha-am, part of the Phetchaburi province. Hua Hin is in the Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

I completely agree that it is a lot closer to Hua Hin than Pranburi.

Happy travels.

not fully member of spg

The website says +hotel not fully participate in SPG+. How is this to interpret? Will the valued Platinum member get upgrade, breakfast and Internet? Will he get the points and nights?

When you click on the words Limited Participation it says:

All rooms at the Sheraton Hua Hin Pranburi Villas are villas; therefore, Starpoint Award reservations must be booked at a higher Starpoint rate through your local customer contact center.

Other than this, it is business as usual.

Nice, so maybe next year I will give it a try. The villas seem to be nice and large.

It depends upon the set-up. If the lowest room class is a standard suite, then you might be subject to the generosity of the property.

Just checked out after a 3 night stay, Upgraded to pool villa suite, room very nice but service was very poor and erratic, and the food !! Simply awful, must be the first time I ever ordered a burger in Thailand !

It seem the French Chef moved to Hua Hin and management is in hiding, the staff simply need training, training and more training.

I would avoid until they get their house in order,

Did you, by any chance, made a note of the name of the Executive Chef?

I also heard that the staff - I believe that most of them were hired and trained by the previous management (Evason Hideway) - is quite good.

I booked a few nights for December.

The problem is that it seems almost no training done. The staff did not know some of the drinks on offer, did not know the details of our reservation.

They were trying but seemed not to be able to communicate amongst themselves.

The food was simply miserable, the chef at breakfast could not cook an omelette ! The bread was stale, they seemed not to know how to cook Thai noodles, they served friend rice instead of Phad Thai.

We were almost always the only ones eating lunch and dinner, and we wished we were not.

The room had numerous maintenance issues, and finally the design of the villas means the front gate has not external lock so the bed room and sitting room have auto locks meaning you have to keep slightly open at all times or use the patio doors, however bed patio door means a slippery climb over the bath ( that takes 45 mins to fill ) and the sitting room side pools with water after using the pool !

Nothing earthshattering but many, many, many small irritants that should not be experienced at this level of property.

The Resort GM is being mentored by Richard Chapman so maybe by Dec a lot will have improved.

The shame is it could be great, but its not at the moment
