If you have an iPhone you can add your SPG card to your passbook and on it back it will tell you how many LT qualifying years of elite status you have. I don't think it'll distinguish between gold and plat and there may be discrepancies on the LT nights shown on the card compared to online. I'm sure you can also find out by calling SPG

I hit LT Plat on June 11th, it was in the system about 2 weeks later. I still haven't received my LT card but received an email saying I needed to watch for a kit which contained the card. It also said it may take 4-5 months. I'm hoping to have it by the time I leave for Maui Sheraton in August but I'm not holding my breath.

I don't think anyone has mentioned hitting the 10th year of Platinum and the 500th night at the same time.
When I was at 450 nights, I thought that I would hit the two at the same time. In the end, I had a lot of one-night stays, so there will be about 15 nights difference between the two for me.

Just added mine having LT Gold with 283 nights. Perhaps I'll return in 5 years when I can move to the LT Platinum list

Of the most recent people to reach status, has anyone yet received their LT Plat card?? I got an email asking me to verify my address, saying only one card goes out, and then to watch for it. Then it said 4-5 months to get it! I KNOW people have received theirs quicker. I'd sure like to hold that baby in my hands but each trip to the mailbox yields yet another frown.
Perhaps they only send them out every quarter?

They probably need a minimum order with their supplier, so they wait until they have enough to send out. If you're at the end of the cycle, you get your quickly. But if you hit the threshold just after they send out a batch, you'll be waiting a while.

Last year, on the last weekend of the year, I did this -- needed exactly 3 more nights to hit the next level of Platinum. The person at the front desk said she had seen something like 5 people that day doing just that.
