Does anyone have any experience getting an approved BRG, booking through FHR, getting the reservation modified by the BRG team and getting the benefits onsite?

Does anyone have any recent experience with adding SPG to reservations? It seems that SPG can't be added to AX FHR reservations now. I just want the credit & internet benefits.

I haven't tried calling the hotel directly yet.

In the past, my PTS agent always added my number to reservations automatically, but I haven't used PTS much since they no longer allow relationship agents. It's a shame as I had several outstanding agents over the years who did almost all my travel reservations.

Nope... this is no longer possible. I called AX PTS and they said to try calling the hotel. Starwood 800 says to call AX cause they can't do it.

So my last resort is the hotel.

Bad service. In the past, my PTS agent would have offered to phone the hotel and document what was done, not tell me to call them myself. It makes the Plat card less valuable if they can't fix stuff like this for you with minimal effort on the cardholder's part.

Yeah, PTS has really gone down the hill. I had the PTS agent call the hotel to confirm a benefit, and she was not happy doing so. It took 10 minutes just for her to confirm what breakfast was included. I have not had good PTS service for about a year now. I'm not sure what changes AX made, but good service is no longer expected.

There's still some good benefits with the AX Plat, so I'm keeping it for now. But service is no longer one of them.

You can push Amex FHR bookings online and add your SPG number to the comments this has always worked for me and is much less faff than having to speak to agents.

Pretty disappointed, apparently none of the 3rd or 4th night free FHR rates are eligible for SPG points.

Virtuoso has similar promotions, does anyone have any experience on whether those are typically eligible for SPG points?

Where is this information coming from? I have some booked and have my SPG number added and they show in my spg account without issue. Has this been confirmed by someone?

Yep, I had read through the threads before booking and it seemed like the rates had qualified in the past, but when I tried to apply an SNA I was told I couldn't because it was ineligible rate.

So I reached out to the lurkers and, as William pointed out, they confirmed the rates weren't eligible for points.

I'm not sure what determines whether a rate is eligible (i.e., is this an Amex decision to offer an ineligible rate or is it an SPG decision), but I thought I should post it here since it seems like this might be a departure from how these rates were treated in the past. I'm just glad I figured it out before the stay.

This does seem very sneaky indeed by either Amex or SPG whoever made the decision! As FHR rates have been confirmed as valid to decide because there is a free night offer it makes them invalid is underhand to say the least!

I will be contacting Amex today to ask there side and then cancelling the booking!

Note: I did not say that every rate booked by FHR is now ineligible. However, the two bookings submitted to me by spgplat21 definitely were.

I would suggest contacting SPG first. When I called Amex they weren't super helpful and acted like they had no way of telling if a rate would earn points or not.

Also the bookings were both in NY at the St. Regis and Chatwal utilizing the current FHR third night free promos. They were both cancellable 1 day prior to checkin and the rates were basically the same as spg.com since both hotels were also offering 3rd night free promos directly.

Thanks I have emailed my bookings to my Ambassador to check, what seems underhand is the fact some FHR bookings are and some are not without any clear indication at time of booking that an FHR may not actually be points earning!

Thank you for the advice as always
