In fact, I stayed there last week and it was one of the nicer 4P anywhere (and nicer than many domestic US Sheratons). It would only need a few touches to brand it higher than a 4P. Nice lounge/restaurant, too.

Any updates on this property?

Website now shows December 2014, which I'm sure it just a placeholder.

Aloft Cupertino just ain't cutting it anymore

Not to wake too dead of a thread, but this hotel is showing an opening date of June 25, 2015. Unfortunately the Starwood site isn't accepting reservations.

Is there a usual time in advance of opening where reservations can be made? I was booted from an award stay at the Westin Market Street for Super Bowl weekend. It's looking like the Sheraton in Pleasanton or nothing.

It really depends on the hotel. I've seen hotels wait until a month beforehand, as the dates always slip.

Now it shows as opening on July 9th. However, they are only accepting reservations on August the 1st. I'm trying to book around the end of July.

Lurkers, is it a glitch that I can't book any dates in July (Post opening date)?

Probably not. This usually happens when a new hotel comes into the Starwood family of hotels and resorts. I've seen some not accept bookings greater than three months from their listed opening date.

You might try calling the property. They should have office staff on duty that can help you out. Soft openings usually get a lot of hand-holding and the computers are locked out.

Just a thought.

They're offering rates on their Sainte Claire website post opening date. I'll give them a call and check.

They are taking reservations now, although there are no bargains to be had.

And with limited exception, you won't find any for awhile. Even the Four Points downtown was in the $300s on a couple of occasions when I considered a stay.

The San Jose market is brutal during the week. Consistent 275+ rates every week.

July 31st is $143, which isn't bad.

I just drove by it on July 4th while heading to the fireworks downtown:
