Which car rental companies are in the rental center?
I would like to book with a major rental company beforehand.

I checked today and all room types are available via C+P, including bi-level suites and club rooms.
Is this an error? Will I be downgraded to a standard room upon check-in?

Were you able to book this? All I can see on the Cash & Points rate plan are standard rooms.

Review

Review based on a one-night stay earlier this month.

Summary: "OK" airport hotel. Probably won't stay here again.

Arrived late in the night. The gentleman at the front desk granted me 2 pm checkout upon request.

I was given a room on the club floor. Things in the room were adequate, about what you would expect for a Sheraton. Out the window there was a pleasant view of the golf course. The catch came when I actually tried to sleep. There was a very loud piece of equipment on the roof. It sounded like a chiller, or it could have been elevator equipment? I thought I would never get to sleep without earplugs. I put a pillow over my head (literally) and drifted off pretty quickly. If it were not for the fact that I was totally exhausted, I'm sure I would have ended up going down to the desk to complain.

The next morning I slept in. Remember that late checkout? At 10:50 am, housekeeping was outside my door and the phone was ringing. I guess they must have looked at the computer and figured it out, because by the time I picked up there was no one on the other end.

The pool area looked nice enough. Based on the orientation of the hotel, the pool should be in full sun most of the day.

In response to criticisms from earlier in this thread: The parking gates worked OK for me. I think the parking was actually the highlight of the stay. Lack of outlets: My desk had three available outlets built in along the left side.

Looks like they fixed it now.
I was able to book 2 seperate nights. I took screenshot and it is still showing the Bi-level suite redeeming C+P on SPG "My Stays".

This property is NOT a conference centre... the name is Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel and Executive Meeting Centre and is not included on this list.

I just completed a one night award stay, arriving late and departing the next morning for Trirail. Here are the highlights:

1. The staff were all very friendly, including front desk, shuttle drivers, waiters and housekeeping.

2. As a platinum I did not see any evidence of an upgrade but its possible they were busy and no suites were available. Given my late arrival and mid morning departure, it wasn't all that important.

3. As posted earlier, the decor in the room and public spaces seemed dated but everything appeared to work.

4. The entire hotel seemed very clean, other than the fact that local fast food and pizza joints liberally scattered menus and ads all throughout the hotel, covering the hallway floors with considerable garbage.

5. The lounge was closed for renovation but I was provided with a voucher for a full breakfast in the restaurant. I am not sure whether the hotel will still extend this courtesy once the lounge reopens. A temporary lounge had been set up in an area towards the back of the bar. It was stocked with snack bars, fresh fruit, soda, coffee and, from what I was told, hot appetizers during happy hour. A sign stood in front of the entrance to the area indicating restricted access but anyone was free to enter as they wished. In the morning, the temporary lounge was also stocked with sliced fruit, bread, pastries and cereal. By this point, the sign had been removed entirely.

6. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant was very good, including made to order eggs, waffles and a variety of fresh fruit, including papaya and large blackberries. My favorite, though, was the frozen yogurt machine. ^ I am not sure about the cost of the breakfast because I just presented my voucher to the waiter. When receiving the voucher he replied, "Ah, that's as good as a green card, it will get you anything." LOL.

7. The airport shuttle operates 24 hours and runs very frequently, every 15 minutes. Over the years, I have stayed at four different Hilton HHonors properties at MIA (two Hamptons, one HGI and the Doubletree) and all of these properties offered a much less frequent and less reliable shuttle service.

I would definitely consider staying at the Sheraton again, the next time I need to overnight at MIA.

Back again....My take on this property:

-All the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

-Platinum recognition was exemplary - early check-in and one of very few 2 level suites. Also, the Gold/Plat check in line got me ahead of at least 20 people in the regular line.

-The club lounge is a good effort, but lacking. It is temporarily located on the 9th floor - I'm told that they are renovating the original, but awaiting permits.

The evening offerings are lousy. First night, wet wrap type sandwiches, the kind you get at Costco. Oh, and a plate of cubed cheese. NO crackers, though. A call had to be made to room service to have them bring up crackers, and then it was just a plate of water crackers. NO hot food, as there was in the original lounge.

The second night, STILL no crackers with the plate of cheese. Really? Who eats cheese by itself? There was a sliced cake, though if you want to spread cheese on it . The sandwich dish was empty when I got there ( I saw others eating small sandwiches), and wasn't refilled while I was there. Still no hot offerings.

Breakfast had sliced melons, which pleased me. The cappucino maker is broken - it only makes espresso. The attendant told several people, BUT only AFTER each person, including myself, pressed "Cappucino" . Why wouldn't there be a sign on it? Oh, the attendant was STILL, friendly though, if not a bit inept.

I like this property for what it is, just don't expect to eat much in the lounge.

Im here now. The lobby is clean and big. The Hotel is very cold which is nice in the summer. The door men are very helpful with bags.

The Breakfast has only cereal today which sucks for me.

Stayed here for one night, an ok hotel, staff are great.

Valet and self parking are at the same price (15 USD). I arrived early around 7 am, was upgraded to a bi-level suite but the room wasn't ready, told them to give me whatever it's available but housekeeping did not start yet, went up to the lounge for a hour and came back down and was given a room facing the golf course. The room is ok fora one nighter but everything seems dated.

They are renovating the lounge on the 10th floor so they switched to a room (yes a room) on the 9th. It's actually a bi-level suite, the 1st level is the club lounge, asked the employee about what's on the 2nd level, said it was a room for a guest, they basically installed a wall so no one can go to the 2nd level (it seems there are no windows in that room). I was given breakfast coupons for arriving early so I can waste my time at the restaurant (this wasn't a plat benefit). I was also given the 3 pm late checkout with no hassles.

Stayed here 2 weeks ago on a short one-night stop.
Check in was fine - but gold-platinum line was not really served. So I cued at the long line for check-in. Got an upgrade to a club level room which was fine for me. But nevertheless, my impression was that the hotel is quite dated. The carpet looks horrible, the lounge was below average (incl. the choices of snacks / breakfast).

Think I will try the Element next time.

At the hotel now, arrived very early for a one night stay (9a). Was upgraded, without prompting to a bi-level suite, and offered the chance to have breakfast in the lounge while waiting for it to be ready.

Spent a little over two hours in the lounge, and I can give the tip that while the official hours on the door for breakfast are ?-9a, they served until at least 11. Maybe that's 'cause it's Sunday? Several loud groups up there, and two kids monopolizing the computers...one kid playing a loud videogame, another watching loud youtube(?) videos. Not exactly peaceful, but it's the Sunday after thanksgiving, so maybe that's it.

Front desk extremely helpful and cheery. Bell desk surprisingly quick with the bags. as noted above, parking $15 for self park or valet, and across the street from the rental car center...although I'm not sure I'd want to walk it.
