Which * alliance partner has the lowest taxes for award ticket?

I am planning a trip to either - AER , TAS , RGN or ULN . I will be using a one way coach award from United and Lufthansa each. I do not have any status on any Star Alliance partner.

The trip is for March/April.

Aeroplan is great for finding availability, but, a shock later when I call the airline and am informed about the fees.

Any suggestions and advice?

I am EXP on AA and would getting a status match be beneficial besides lounge access?

Thanks again.

You do not state which program's miles you will be using.
If you book with United Mileage Plus, fees will be minimal.

I think his program is Aeroplan.

AP no YQ airlines are: Air China, Brussels, EgyptAir, Ethiopian, EVA Air, Scandinavian, Singapore, Swiss, Turkish, United, Air India, South African Airways.

You can also fly from the following countries without YQ: Brazil, Philippines
or capped YQ cities such as NRT, HND and HKG

You can match your AA status to TK to get *A benefits, but if you are going to redeem the miles on J, then you will get all the benefits as *A Gold.

UAMP does not charge YQ for all carriers

LH M&M's YQ free carriers : UA (within NA and SA), AV and CM

Unless you are redeeming for F class on the M&M group, it's better to use your miles from UA to avoid YQ.
