*A FFP mileage expiration

Is UA the only program that offers extension of mileage expiration with any activity? With UA's upcoming changes on RDM earning, it may not be the best program for infrequent flyers (some of my friends & family) to park miles. Are there alternatives out there? Since they are infrequent flyers, programs with fixed expiration won't be good either for obvious reason. TIA.

Doesn't Miles & Bonus charge a fee to keep miles from expiring? How's LifeMiles in terms of earning & burning?

No Miles & Bonus does not charge a fee to keep miles from expiring. LifeMiles has very inflexible routing rules but is the last reasonable *A premium cabin redemption option that doesn't have fuel surcharges. They aren't that wonderful on the earnings side though.

But it is still good to fly other non UA *A partners and credit to UA as long as it is not a 016 ticket.

Almost all non-US base programs don't allow extension, and the Asia base ones like BR, NH, CX are strictly limited to 3 years only, all old miles expire in 3 years from the date you earned.

As far as I understand the T&Cs, the miles can be extended annually with at least 1 *A flight, but the miles still end up expiring 7 years following the initial crediting. Does this sound right? Can the miles be extended with activities other than flight? TIA.
