Lima Peru, anyone know what Lounge there UA pax use?

We are flying Biz to EWR this month, and see that there are several lounges at Lima airport, but not sure which ones UA pax get to use.

Does anyone know, and also do you know if that lounge has showers? Flying in from a long day in Arequipa, so that will be handy.

Thanks in advance.

I seem to recall that it is the Sumaq lounge and that lounge does have showers. But I'm not positive.

The *A lounge finder now has contract lounges.

It shows the Salon Sumaq as a contract lounge for UA, JJ and CM.

Hopefully the contract lounge information is accurate.

Many thanks ... hopefully a member has been there recently who can confirm it was SUMAQ as there are several it seems.

We are in Business first so assume that gains entry.

Was there a little over a year ago, it was the Sumaq. I don't know about showers.

As CO pax flying LIM-EWR in 2011 we used the Sumaq lounge, which has showers. It has Inca Kola, but if you try to take one home, your bag may randomly be searched when you board the plane and your bottle may be thrown into a bin under the bag-search table where it will fall among lots of other people's bottles of Inca Kola.

Thanks ... have been to Peru several times and the LAST thing I'll be thinking of taking home is Inca Cola!

Bright yellow sodas are not for me.

True story - Coke and Pepsi spent endless millions in Peru trying to be the dominant soda brand.

But rhe Peruvians resisted very heavily.

So Coke quietly bought them out.

SUMAQ lounge is the applicable one. I used it in August and September two ways: while traveling on a United Business itinerary, and while traveling on a TACA economy itinerary as a *Gold member.

SUMAQ is given as first option. But since most international flights leave between 11pm-1am this lounge fills up quite fast (especially during weekends). There is an additional lounge directly next to SUMAQ called "VIP Club Lounge." It has almost all the same amenities, excluding the orange juice machine and showers (it even has its own outdoor smoker's area just like SUMAQ). This lounge is two stories and mostly less crowded than SUMAQ.

I would highly recommend you use SUMAQ, but if it is over capacity you will be directed to VIP Club Lounge next door.

Hadn't read Ima Sumaq's name in a while. Enjoy!

I can confirm that there are showers in Sumaq - I had one there in Sept 2011.

I understand there have been some renovations since my visit. These photos are of the old lounge.

The best part is the Pisco Sour bar.
