Need advise: First class travel from US (NJ) to Malaysia

I'm looking to travel from New Jersey to Malaysia in July and have UA and US Air miles to use for first class on Star Alliance partners, preferably Thai/SIA. What would be the best way/site to search for availability of Star Alliance award travel?

BTW, do they allow infants in first/business class?

You will find a number of tools discussed in the Travel Tools forum. Here is one that is free to use and very helpful: http://beta.awardtravelr.com/

Remember that award availability can be different depending on whether you use US or UA miles.

When you say NJ, do you really mean it? That limits your choices for EWR, but you might find more options if you are willing to leave from either PHL or JFK.

With few exceptions, babies are allowed but they are expensive, frequently over a thousand dollars to add a lap infant to an IFC or business class award ticket, usually calculated as 10% of the fare for the cabin plus all fees and taxes.

LH flys to KUL from BKK. it's not hard to find F seats on TG from Europe to BKK and either LH or UA seats to Europe from the US - then you can take LH to KUL (the only flight with F as all TG flights on this sector are 2 cabin

Something like this:
LH/UA/LX USA-EUROPE
TG EUROPE - BKK
LH BKK - KUL

Sometimes the LH flight is avail all the way from FRA-KUL but TG has much more availability. The LH sector from BKK-KUL is ALWAYS WIDE OPEN IN F

+1, but keep in mind that LH only flies BKK-KUL 3x week.
