Stationery shops in Madrid

Sorry if I post this to the wrong forum.

I urgently need Velcro by Monday, does anyone know who sells in Madrid? I tried Carlin which was closed on Saturdays. I went to a big department store but no stationery floor...

It would be very appreciated if anyone responds to this question. I have to buy it tomorrow (Sunday)...

Say what?

Can't tell if you are talking about big boats that don't move, clothing, or writing supplies....

Have updated to "shops", which is what I assume the OP is after - correct me if I'm wrong...

I'm also going to move to the Spain forum, may help get more specialist attention.

Might be a daft question, but have you tried haberdashery shops/departments (merceria?) It's not something is mentally classify under stationery, but that could be just me...

I'd search arts & crafts, hobby and fabric stores, not stationary stores.

But it IS better if the stores don't move around on you. Much easier to locate.

Thanks everyone. Sorry for lack of information.

I meant just a big Velcro roll (a few meters), which is needed for poster displays (cut it into short strips). (In Amazon.es, it's listed as "Velcro - Tiras adhesivas para colgar objetos (20 mm x 2.5 m), colour blanco".

Does anyone know where to buy such a thing?

EDIT: As you say, it's not in stationery but DIY in Spain. I normally order this to stationery shops (Ryman, etc) in the UK...

I would say you'll need to go to a Carrefour or Alcampo if Corte Inglés doesn't have one.

The easiest to get to on Metro is probably the Alcampo at Pío XII(L9) or the Carrefour at Mar de Cristal (L4/L8).

There're also Carrefours at Aluche (L5/Cercanías Line 5) and one at the mall with the Ikea at Las Suertes (L1)

As Stut stated above, you'll have better luck going to a haberdashery (mercería)

Almacén de Pontejos
Plaza de Pontejos, 2
28012 Madrid
Tel: +34 915 21 55 94

~ or ~

Almacenes Cobián
Calle Marqués Viudo de Pontejos, 2
28012 Madrid, Spain
Tel: +34 915 22 25 25

They're around the corner from each other, closest metro stop is Sol.

Pontejos is the place to go. If they don't have it then it doesn't exist.
