Fast, easy, cheap way to earn 5400 points

I needed 6000 points early this year to complete my 110,000 points for Companion Pass. I bought Choice Hotel points to do so. The conversion rate was 3:1 so I needed to buy 18,000 points. [The points were transferable in 6000 point chunks only] I actually ended up buying 17,000 points for $187 as they had a 10% bonus deal at the time. They were credited quickly to my new Choice account, and the conversion was equally fast and easy. You can only buy a maximum of 10,000 points at a time, so it took 2 purchases. I ended up with 5400 SW points using the Choice points and the last 600 were easy enough from ordinary purhcases. I got my Companion Pass in early Feb, 2013.

The 10% bonus is currently available:

Or you could just buy VR $6K. You would only be spending $47.40 vs $187

I don't know what VR is or how it works. You are saying that you can buy 6000 points or are you saying you put $6000 dollars on the card and then use the card to pay for other things? And the cost of the latter is $47.40. And that would presume you have $6000 cash to do this???

It's not terribly easy to understand / setup at first but if you have a place to buy the cards, can be a cheaper way to "spend" $6,000 and earn the 6,000 points on your WN Chase card, putting you over the top. Best hurry though..
