WN's pricing tends to be pretty "rational". Longer flights are generally more expensive than shorter ones and non-stop's tend to be cheaper than connecting ones. That's not to say there aren't some cheaper hidden city options out there, but the discounts tend to be less than you can find on the legacy carriers with their hub and spoke pricing models.

I have occasionally seen connections through DAL sell cheaper as separate trips than as a connection. I haven't seen hidden city opportunities in years.

Fast way to get A-List on flights rather than points.

In the last year or so, have done HOU-ATL with a Hidden City stop in STL -- this one was closer to about $100 difference vs "legit", but I think there was an ATL sale going on
I've also done SFO-MSP with STL as the Hidden City, and I think that one was about $100 difference, too compared to legit. This was also a last second type purchase
I built a connection thru DEN going STL-LAS once, as DEN had an airfare sale, so STL-DEN and DEN-LAS booked separately was cheaper than the STL-LAS with a stop/change in DEN
Hidden City is out there, occasionally
