Anniversary points

About 3 weeks ago, I received (in the mail) a card stating that I would get 6,000 points for my 'anniversary'.

As of now, they have not posted.

Anybody know the time frame when they might post? Should I call?

They should have posted by the time you received the notification. The points are included in monthly Chase points rather than a separate line item.

Anniversary points

Too bad it wasn't bumped to 7,000 to still correspond to the $99 fee

Most reports (myself included) are that a 3000 point retention bonus is pretty easy to get.

A $100 flight costs about 5,100 points. Not sure how you're doing your math. You still get (slightly) more value from 6,000 points.

I just received a shiny, expensive-looking mailer announcing, "We've added 6,000 points to your Rapid Rewards Account," and that "Your 6,000 anniversary points have arrived. If you're ready to use them, just visit southwest.com."

My Chase account doesn't close for another 12 days, so the points aren't actually there yet.

I was going by 70/$ redemption rate (formerly 60/$) but you are correct, that language has been scrubbed and the requirements are rather dynamic.

When did this change? The shift to 70 was a big deal but now many itins are pricing at 60 or even less

It was shortly before the devaluation took effect that I think people noticed that earning and redemption had both started being based on the fare before taxes and fees including the excise tax.

I think it was some time after the devaluation took effect. But it did reduce the impact of the devaluation on existing point balances by about half. Going forward the impact of devaluation remains.

I've checked the email news flashes thread: the point devaluation took effect March 31, 2014 (it was announced about six months prior), and the point formula change was first noticed in a thread that started Jan. 27.

The change in formula came between 1/21/14 and 1/27/14. I have two flights purchased at the same time and for the same amount and the points totals are different.
