anyone got XFAR without build in nav ?

Hi there

Have booked an XFAR for 3 weeks in the summer from and to SFO.

Just wondering if it is necessary to pay 12 USD pr. day for build-in navigation - or if this is always there for this class.

I would assume that buying an X5, Merc GLE, Escalade or Volvo XC90 navigation would be standard - meaning that it would be "impossible" not to get build in navigation - and hence the 12 USD pr. day be wasted

Hence my question: have anyone rented XFAR in US and NOT had build-in navigation ?

I've never paid extra for built in Navigation. That's just my experience. However, I have noticed some odd difference with Sixt and may start using them less.

Use Waze on your smartphone. Much better than any built-in navi.

That may not be exactly the point. Having navigation has always been beneficial to me, even if i'm not routing to a POI. Simply having a real-time map is a great asset. An at this price point should be standard.

FYI- I use waze a lot and love the app.

Waze provides a map as well...

Anyway, navi is standard in the X5, XC90, and Escalade (at least for the 2017s), but it's an option in the GLE.

I certainly wouldn't pay $12/day for navigation, even if not paying the $12 meant I didn't get the navi.
