SIN-CHC, no power at seats

'Sorry, this is older aircraft, we do not have AC or USB power'

Seriously? For 10h flight for which I paid SGD 2127?

Do I have too high expectations?

This is the 777-200ER, the inflight entertainment is the lousiest in SQ. Small screen in EY, even J's screen is non-HD. Even the shorter haul A330 has got better IFE!

Gradually as and when the 787s are delivered.

SQ (the Singapore Airlines branded airline) has no Boeing 787 at the moment.
So, you may have to wait a couple of years before you get relieved from those old 777-200 birds.

If you fly economy you should do some research beforehand whether your economy seat has electrical power.

Are you going to give me your word as a guarantee that that particular route/plane will have power or not?

IIRC, the A330s also do not have USB in J.

Couldn't find the USB, thought it was me who haven't took the A330 in J for too long and asked the FS and they confirmed that there was no USB plug.

When is reconfigured 772 entering service?

I thought that CHC was getting the reconfigured 772, and looking at the seat map for next December, it shows 1-2-1 in business. I am traveling to the South Island and thinking about booking this flight over the A380 to AKL, to avoid the extra connection, but if this route is served by the old regional configuration, I am not doing it.

Frankly, yes. I'm sure eventually we'll reach a stage where AC / USB in economy is standard, but IMO we're not there yet.
