Luggage Check-In A Day prior

Hello Helpers,

I have a transit connection in London Heathrow Airport. However, I arrived on Day 1, and depart on Day 2 to Singapore through Singapore Airline, with a layover of 20 hours.I purposely do this to take a quick tour of London.

Anyway, will my luggage be checked through to Singapore, considering this as a "transit"? Or do I have to get my luggage out, and check in the luggage again next day?

I always though the luggage should be checked through without me having to take it out. But then, I remember at other airports in Asia, they always make me take my luggage to my hotel.

Thanks
Sean

Don't leave your luggage in the custody of the airlines for 20 hours, even if they allow it. Too much opportunity for loss and theft.
