Question on earning KrisFlyer miles on United Ticket - based on fare or miles?

Hi,

If I use my KrisFlyer FF number to a United ticketed and operated flight, do I earn miles based on fare or miles? Googled it up but could not find convincing information.

Fly expert, thanks for help,

Earning on a *A flight depends on three factors
-- The program you are crediting
-- The flight operator (the flight number or marketer does not matter)
-- The flight operator's fare class

Since you are not crediting UA MP but rather SQ KrisFlyer, you need to go to the SQ site to find the answer.

See SQ KF program earnings

Since this is not a UA MP question will move this to the SQ KF forum.

Any mileage eligible fares for travel on United, will accrue Krisflyer miles based on distance flown (multiplied by factor depending on fare class). This can be useful for lower cost long distance economy fares.

That's right, I've done it and earned elite miles based on distance.

Or not! That refers to crediting SQ flown miles to UA Mileage Plus.

The Krisflyer earn rates for UA flown trips are shown in the link provided by WineCountryUSA above, or here.

That's right, if you're crediting mileage to your desired FFP, you should refer to your desired FFP's earn rate for partner airlines. Not the other way around.....

Yes, and I believe SQ KF is the only program that gives 100% miles for all UA fares.

UA is one of the very few *A carrier that gives 100% for cheap flights.
UA1/2 SFO-SIN direct is one good mileage earner, provided you can endure UA for 15-16 hours

If I'm flying UA from ORD-SFO to position for an SQ flight (booked separately) can I earn SQ KF miles for that portion? Thanks in advance!

Yes as soon as it is booked in a qualified booking class.

No. Because LAX-ORD is 1745 miles. So you will only earn 3490 miles instead.

Is this true for UA flight numbers. If you buy a UA flight number on ANA metal do you earn 100% mileage with SQ?
